EMU-UP! “University Prepared”: Creating Innovative, Community-Based Programs that Showcase the Value in Earning a University Degree

Presented by: Dr. Christina Mirtes, Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education, College of Education and Dr. Jessica Grimone-Hopkins, Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education, College of Education

Are you interested in creating or revitalizing an existing program in your school or department? If so, this learning community may be for you.

Aligned to EMU’s strategic plan, this Fall 2024 Learning Community experience will consist of three workshops that provide an opportunity for faculty participants to learn about the new and innovative 2+2 Early Childhood Education fully online program proposal process that can be applied and tailored to various disciplines across Eastern Michigan University. Participants will explore all aspects of the 2+2 program proposal development, and follow a supportive project guide designed to support faculty in developing new and innovative program initiatives leading to a proposal.

This university-wide learning community is open to all full-time faculty and full-time lecturers, particularly if they are interested in learning about and creating innovative discipline-specific program development initiatives designed to meet the needs of the modern student, help address low enrollment, and support current workforce demands in the community. Upon completion of all three workshop sessions and the development of a project plan, faculty will receive an honorarium for full participation of $300.
