The EMU Halle Library is hosting the National Library of Medicine's traveling educational exhibition "This Lead Is Killing Us: A History of Citizens Fighting Lead Poisoning in Their Communities."
Exposure to lead can cause health problems, especially in children. In spite of that, lead was still used in manufacturing and products like gasoline and paint until the 1980s. The exhibition has information about the medical researchers who raised the alarm about lead in the environment and the people whose communities have been affected by lead poisoning.
