Communications
EMU PD maintains its own Dispatch Center, which is staffed 24/7 year-round by professional Communications Officers. Our Communications Officers are focused on solving problems while coordinating with the officers that work at EMU PD for all of your emergency and non-emergency needs.
With nearly 1000 cameras on campus, Communication Officers assist police with solving crimes by reviewing video footage of University properties, as well as monitor cameras during in-progress incidents. As a 911 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point), our Communication Officers are the voices you hear when you activate an emergency phone or EAS station. EMU Communication Officers also work in collaboration with other agencies to ensure quality assistance for those in need.
EMU PD’s Dispatch Center and front desk provides a wealth of information and resources available on campus such as: R.A.D systems (Rape Aggression Defense) maps, and after-hour Physical Plant emergencies, as well as pamphlets with useful information regarding personal safety. The well-being of our EMU Family is the top priority of the EMU PD Dispatch Center.
