UWC for Graduate Students

During the semester, writing support is available to current EMU graduate students and instructors, as well as recent alumni of graduate-level programs. To request writing support, click the “Request writing support” link on the right. All writers are asked to limit their requests to once per week.

Request Writing Support

You must be logged into only your EMU email to request support. If you get an error, sign out of any other email accounts and try again.

Open January 10 - April 23

Three types of support are available:

  • Zoom or Google Meet Consultations - Hour-long Zoom or Google Meet appointments must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are available Monday-Friday. Consultants do not read documents before appointments; documents can be shared during the appointment.
  • Asynchronous Feedback - A writing consultant reviews and comments on an uploaded document. There is no page limit for submissions. Turnaround time depends on the length of the document when double-spaced. Generally, it takes 2 days for each 10 pages submitted. Submissions received after 6:00 pm are considered to be received the next day, and submissions received Friday, Saturday, or Sunday have one additional day added.
  • In-Person Consultations - Hour-long, in-person appointments must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are available Monday-Friday. Consultants do not read documents before appointments; documents can be shared during the appointment. All writers attending in-person consultations are required to comply with our safety protocols.
