Professional Summary

As a Full-Time Lecturer in the Department of Management since January 1999, Dr. Barley has enjoyed teaching business communication courses at Eastern Michigan University. In acknowledgement of her outstanding teaching abilities, she received "The Outstanding Lecturer Award" in 2020 from the Department of Management. Her passion is developing outstanding business professionals through practical business educational experiences.

Research Interests & Projects

Dr. Barley's research interests are in the areas of: scholarship of teaching and learning, technology, digital communication, social media, cross-cultural student media preferences for course communications, media richness and late developing advantage theory.
