Undergraduate Scholarships

The College of Business and the individual departments in the College have endowed scholarships that are available to students meeting specific criteria. Applications will be accepted beginning the 3rd week of November.

Departmental Scholarships

The following scholarships are also available for College of Business students from the individual departments and you can apply for them by filling out the online application above.

Accounting and Finance

  • Accounting and Finance Alumni Student Recognition Endowed Scholarship

    • Intent or major in accounting or accounting information systems
    • Minimum 3.25 GPA
    • Sophomore, junior, senior or fifth-year graduate students
    • Active involvement in community service, student organizations, work experience
    • For fifth-year students, undergraduate degree in accounting from EMU
  • Richard Baird College of Business Endowed Scholarship

    • Undergrad accounting major entering the master's in accounting program at senior status when receiving award
    • Full-time student
    • Minimum 3.4 GPA
  • E. A. (Dan) Devine Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Undergraduate accounting major
    • Minimum 2.5 GPA
    • Financial need
  • Great Teachers in Accounting Endowed Scholarship

    • Intent or major in accounting or accounting information systems
    • Minimum 3.25 GPA
    • Sophomore, junior, senior or fifth-year graduate students
    • Active involvement in community service, student organizations, work experience
    • For fifth-year students, undergraduate degree in accounting from EMU
  • The Grezlik Family Expendable Scholarship

    • Financial Need
    • Finance major
  • KeyBank Endowed Scholarship

    • Junior, senior or graduate student
    • Finance/banking major preferred or any COB major
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Mann Li Liu Lee Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Undergraduate accounting or finance major
    • Minimum GPA 2.5
    • Biographical essay outlining need and how they plan to utilize degree
    • Letter from employer with dates and hours of employment as proof of employment while enrolled in at least two classes during the preceding semester.
  • Tammy Machovec Award for Excellence in Non-Profit Accounting

    • Interest in government and non-profit accounting
  • Richard and Linda Pifer/Plante Moran Endowed Scholarship

    • Accounting or accounting information systems major
    • Minimum 3.5 GPA
    • At least junior status
  • Doeren Mayhew Expendable Scholarship

    • Undergraduate accounting major
    • Must be entering into or completing junior year before the Fall semester
    • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Linda M. Shipley Memorial

    • Undergraduate, junior or senior accounting major
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Financial need

    This scholarship is available to business majors through the Office of Financial Aid. Please complete the "University Scholarship Application" to be considered for the Linda M. Shipley Memorial Scholarship.

  • UHY Distinguished Accounting Leadership Scholarship

    This scholarship (applied to EMU tuition and fees) is awarded to a master's in accounting student or an undergraduate accounting major who is going to be enrolled in MSA/MSAIS/MST or 150 hour program who has exhibited a combination of outstanding academic performance and leadership skills.
    • Be an EMU undergraduate accounting major entering the EMU MSA/MSAIS/MST/150 hour program or currently in the MSA/MSAIS/MST or 150 hour program.
    • Have at least a 3.2 overall GPA
    • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    • Member or officer in the Accounting Club/BAP/NABA
    • Must have demonstrated leadership skills which include:
        • Taking risks in classroom projects to deliver a unique work product
        • Effectively managed divergent personalities to achieve successful outcomes and to enhance the contributions of others
        • Demonstrated the ability to grasp new concepts quickly and applied them effectively in the classroom
        • Stay calm under pressure
    • Prefer: Student to be working while going to school and taking at least nine credit hours in Fall/Winter semester.
