OISS Operations for Fall 2020

Starting September 17, 2020, the OISS office will resume office operations for document pick-up and document drop-off by appointment only.

This also means the OISS will be able to resume fulfilling EshipGlobal requests for students as well. EshipGlobal instructions

Document Pick-up/Drop-off (By appointment only)

The doors to the OISS office will be locked, No walk-ins will be accepted.

  • Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18
    10 a.m.–Noon and 12:30–2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25
    10 a.m.-noon and 12:30–2:30 p.m.

*Beginning Friday, October 2, the OISS will only be open for appointments on Friday.

*Please note that the OISS will follow the university calendar. These days and hours are subject to change in accordance to OISS, EMU or the State of Michigan policy, procedure or protocol.

The OISS recommends confirming that your I-20 is ready for pick-up before booking an appointment.

Students can still submit all requests to [email protected] for processing.

Per the SEVP Broadcast Message: 2003-03, students can also receive their form I-20 by email.

No in-person advising is available during pick-up/drop-off appointments.

Students who would like an appointment with an OISS advisor can email [email protected] to schedule a Google Meet or Zoom appointment.

Students with critical in-person requests such as SSN (10-1304) letter processing, ITIN (W-7) document processing, and I-515A processing can email [email protected] to coordinate with an OISS advisor.  

Mandatory COVID Precautions

COVID Safe Building Access

Enter the Student Center on the first floor just across the pedestrian bridge or second floor at the north entrance. Exit off the second floor circle drive or any of the stairwell exits of stairs marked down.

COVID Pass Daily Health Screening

All students must pass a daily health screening to come on-campus and enter the buildings. The OISS recommends completing the screening before departing to campus/to the Student Center Building.

Face Coverings

Everyone on campus is required to wear a face covering (mask) that covers both the nose and mouth while on-campus (including outside) and inside all university buildings.

Physical Distancing

All students on campus must maintain a physical distance of six feet or more from other individuals.
