GM Marketplace Discount Offer

Eastern Michigan University, one of the top universities in Michigan and a leader in flexible degree completion opportunities, offers an exclusive tuition discount opportunity to members of General Motors through the GM Marketplace.

The offer applies to current employees, full-time contractors, and retirees of General Motors, as well as employees who were recently separated from the company as part of the reduction-in-force.

Eastern Michigan University will provide members of the GM Family with a 25 percent tuition discount for undergraduate courses and a 33 percent discount for graduate courses in any of our more than 200 majors, minors, and graduate programs. The offer applies to those taking full or part-time schedules, and applies only to classroom courses offered on campus. This excludes coursework in already discounted degree programs.

To meet the needs of today’s workforce, class options include fully online, on campus and hybrid models (mix of online and on campus), with a variety of academic programs to suit every prospective student’s interests.

As part of the offer, Eastern offers an expedited admissions process, an undergraduate application fee waiver code and dedicated email contact and website for easy communication.

As a statewide leader in the seamless transition of credits from other institutions, including community colleges, Eastern also provides a prior learning assessment, in which students may receive academic credit for previous work experience. Each individual college will work with each student to assess opportunities for previous academic credit.

Steps to Get Started

Apply to EMU and use the waiver code GM19 (undergraduate application only).

Once admitted, schedule an appointment with your academic advisor and enroll in courses.

Provide proof of GM employment by email from GM/HR by the first day of classes.

Once verified, tuition discount will be applied to your bill.
