The Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business prepares students for leadership roles across numerous industries. With flexibility to choose electives from two or more functional areas such as Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management, students can tailor the program to their interests and career goals.

This degree provides a strong foundation in business management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership, opening doors to careers in the private, public, or non-profit sectors. 

EMU also offers a General Business Minor (for Non-Business Majors) for students who are interested in learning basic business principles. 

Our Academic Programs

General Business [BBA] – this business program allows students to study core business principles while customizing their program to fit their career objectives and interests. In addition to studying core courses, you will take 12 credit hours from the following required courses and a total of 12 hours of restricted electives from at least two functional areas.

Non-business majors with an interest in foundational learning in business are encouraged to pursue the General Business Minor (for Non-Business Majors) program. Students who are interested in transferring to the General Business BBA program are encouraged to visit Transfer Partnerships for a list of articulation agreements with Michigan Community Colleges.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - the MBA program is designed to help students elevate their business acumen for career growth and enhancement. The program emphasizes leadership skills, professional communication, and quantitative decision-making, alongside knowledge in business functional areas and strategic integration.

The EMU MBA offers flexibility for working professionals to study part-time while employed, and full-time options for both domestic and international students. Graduates will be prepared for advanced roles in management, business strategy, and organizational leadership. Concentrations include the following:

Business Administration [Graduate Certificate] - this is an 18-credit program designed for individuals without an undergraduate business degree that provides foundational business knowledge and skills. Those who are seeking personal growth or career advancement will learn essential insights into core business principles. Topics of study include:
