The Employee Relations unit is responsible for administering staff union collective bargaining agreements. The unit provides advice and consultation to departments concerning employee relations issues and seeks to promote a positive working environment for all employees.
The Employee Relations team is responsible for the negotiation and administration of five (5) collective bargaining agreements for staff employees represented by a union. We represent the University in, labor management meetings, grievance conferences, arbitration hearings, and other dispute resolution forums. Our team provides advice and consultation to departments concerning employee misconduct, poor work performance, and other labor/employee relations matters, for both bargained-for and non-bargained-for staff.
We work collaboratively with the union leadership to resolve differences and promote positive working environments for all employees based upon mutual respect and dignity. We also develop and implement policies and procedures which support the mission of the Office of Human Resources.
