Lactation Support

Eastern believes in supporting mothers in their return to work or school at EMU. That's why we provide clean, secure and user-friendly lactation rooms for all women affiliated with the University, as well as visitors.

Using the Rooms

If possible, contact a location at least two days before you want to use it. Upon arrival, stop by the reception area with your student, staff or visitor ID to pick up the key to the room. Currently, room use is on a first-come, first-served basis, however, if you have a conflict with timing, contact the reception area so they can assist with scheduling. 

Our rooms aren't equipped with pumps so you'll need to bring your own, however, don't leave it in the room. We can't guarantee the security of personal items. Also, out of respect for users, please don't prop open the door at any time.

Refrigeration and storage is provided in some, but not all rooms, so be prepared to store your breast milk as needed. Eastern is not responsible for the security or integrity of breast milk.

To prevent contamination, please be sure to clean up after your use of the room. Antibacterial sprays/wipes and paper towels are provided at some locations.

Locations

All rooms are open Monday through Friday at the times below. Some are open on weekends, too. All rooms include a table, chair and wall plug. Rooms containing a refrigerator or sink are as noted below.

Eagle Nutrition Services

Rackham Building, First Floor, Room 160F
Mon - Fri: 8:15 a.m.–4 p.m., during Fall and Winter. By appointment only during Summer.
