The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Holiday Candlelight Concert is a collaboration of students, faculty, and community members creating the most beautiful collection of music you’ll hear during the holiday season. For many people, the celebration of the season begins with the annual EMU Holiday candlelight concerts.
Are you ready to celebrate the most significant holiday event on Eastern Michigan University's campus? The Candlelight Concert is back, and it's bigger and better than ever! This annual December fundraiser is a musical extravaganza that supports the EMU Choral Department and its talented students.
This year's Candlelight Concert, "Shout for Joy," is a celebration of the works of J.S. Bach, Benjamin Britten, and Sarah Quartel. These three composers have created beautiful extended holiday choral works that are exceptional on their own. However, during tonight's concert, you'll experience a unique interweaving of their pieces with other holiday works, which will prepare your heart and mind for the joyous holiday season ahead.
The Candlelight concert is a collaborative effort of students, faculty members, and community members from all walks of life. Each artist strives to renew, inspire, and connect with the audience, making it a truly special and unique event.
The best part? This is the only ticketed event of the year, so it's the perfect opportunity to show your support for the EMU Choral Department. Your contribution to this meaningful event will help us to continue educating students, connecting with the community, and fostering collaboration. Thank you for considering contributing to this special occasion.
