High School Opportunities
EMU Honor Orchestra- Friday, November 10, 2023
Join us on the campus of Eastern Michigan University for an amazing day of music making!! We are excited to welcome students back for the third consecutive year of the EMU Honor String Orchestra in the fall of 2023. This one-day event will feature:
- Rehearsals conducted by Dr. Chad Hutchinson
- String sectionals with EMU Applied String Faculty
- Honor Orchestra T-Shirt
- On campus dining included
- Performance at 7:30pm in Pease Auditorium
The deadlines for the event are as follows:
Orchestra Director Nominations due by: Thursday, September 28, 2023
Notification of Acceptances: Monday, October 2, 2023 (via director email)
Accepted Student Registration deadline: Monday, October 9, 2023
2023 EMU Honor String Orchestra Schedule
8:30am- Check in- Pease Auditorium- transfer to Alexender Music Building and seating
9:15am- Rehearsal in Alexander Music Building (breaks given throughout)
12:00pm- Lunch at The Commons (provided)
1:00pm- Sectional/Masterclass time
2:45pm- Rehearsal in Pease Auditorium (breaks given throughout)
5:00pm- Dinner at The Student Center (provided)--after dinner students return to Pease, change into concert dress
7:30pm- Concert in Pease Auditorium (free admission)
