Inbox Types

Google provides several different inbox styles, allowing you to customize your inbox to match your personal work style. By default, Google sets up three tabs for inbound email – Primary, Social, and Promotions. When using this type of inbox, Google sorts your email into categories. Some EMU email may be placed under the "Promotions" tab, instead of the "Primary" tab, as Google "learns" what is important.

Note:  The quickest way to see all of your email messages is to select the "All Mail" label in the left column of your inbox. You can also modify your inbox to show or hide tabs.

Be sure to check out the Inbox Styles and Settings page for a complete description of each inbox type, as well as specific instructions for using Importance Markers and the Priority Inbox.
