Preview Pane

Follow these instructions to enable the preview pane in Google Mail:

  1. From Google Mail, click the Settings (gear-shaped) icon that is located below your account information.
  2. Click to select Settings.
  3. Click the Labs tab.
  4. Scroll down the page to the Preview Pane lab.
  5. Click the Enable radio button to turn on the preview pane.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button to return to your inbox.
  7. Click the Toggle Split Pane View icon to switch between views or click the drop-down arrow to select your preferred view from the list.
