Mobile Printing

PaperCut allows you to print documents with your mobile device through a wireless connection in an enabled computer lab, or at a kiosk. No need to worry about downloading and installing more printer drivers. Multiple options exist to print from your mobile device:

  • Web Print from your laptop

    Expand dropdown
    1. Go to http://papercut.emich.edu.
    2. Login with your NetID* and password.
    3. Click on Web Print on the left hand side.
    4. Click on Submit a job>> link.
    5. Select a printer located near you from the list.
    6. Click the Print Options and Account Selection>> button at the bottom-right.
    7. Enter the number of copies you want to print.
    8. Click the Upload Document>> button.
    9. Click the Choose File button.
    10. Browse and select the document to be printed.
    11. Click the Upload and Complete>> button to submit your print job.
    12. The status of your job will display.
  • AirPrint from an iOS device 

    Expand dropdown
    1.  Queue a job to print with AirPrint
      1. In a print-enabled App find and select the Print icon.
      2. Select the printer location you would like to print to.
      3. Select the Print button. Your job is in queue to be released.
    2. Release the job to print with PaperCut
      1. In your browser's address bar enter https://papercut.emich.edu:9192/mr (be sure to type the whole address including the 's' in 'https'.
      2. Log in to PaperCut with your NetID.
      3. The Print Job Notification window will display and show the number of pages and cost. Tap the Print button to release it to the selected printer.
      4. PaperCut will show you your current balance. 
  • Chrome Browser from any mobile device

    Expand dropdown
    1. Verify that you are logged into your EMU Google Apps for Education (GAE) account
      1. From the Chrome menu select Settings.
      2. The top section of the Settings dialog window will show which account is in use.
      3. Select the account shown, or select a different account to add.
    2. Queue a job to print form Chrome
      1. Select Print from the Chrome menu.
      2. Select Google Cloud Print (on a Mac, select Destination/Change).
      3. Choose a printer that is enabled for your device.
      4. Adjust the number of copies on the Print Options dialog box. Changing Duplex or Paper size options will result in the job being canceled.
      5. Select Print. Your job is in queue to be released.
    3. Release the job to print with PaperCut
      1. In your browser's address bar enter https://papercut.emich.edu:9192/mr (be sure to type the whole address including the 's' in 'https').
      2. Log into PaperCut with you NetID.
      3. The Print Job Notification widow will display and show the number of pages and cost. Select the Print button to release it to the selected printer.
      4. PaperCut will show you your current balance.
  • EMU Google Apps for Education (GAE) from any mobile device

    Expand dropdown
    1. Queue a job to print with EMU GAE
      1. With a document open (Docs, Sheets, etc.) in your EMU Google Apps for Education account find and select Print.
      2. Select Google Cloud Print (on a Mac, select Destination /Change).
      3. Select a printer that is enabled for your device.
      4. You may adjust the number of copies on the Print Options dialog box. Changing Duplex or Paper size options will result in the job being canceled.
      5. Select Print. Your job is in queue to be released.
    2. Release the job to print with PaperCut
      1. In your browser's address bar enter https://papercut.emich.edu:9192/mr (be sure to type the whole address including the 's' in https').

Important: To print your documents make sure you're connected to the wireless network.

Note: Not all options work with every iOS, OS or browser version. Web print only supports file extensions from the following applications: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; PDF and EPS files. Other file types should be converted to a PDF.
