Disable Chat

Follow these instructions to disable Google Chat:

1. From Google Mail, click the Settings icon that is located below your account information.
2. Click on See All Settings.
3. Click the Chat and Meet tab.
4. In the Chat section, click the Off button to disable chat within Gmail.
5. Click the Save Changes button.
